Maryvale from January to June 2011. He was born in Mozambique but was raised in Malawi by his mother’s uncle, having lost his parents at a very young age. He qualified as a teacher in 1999, and was awakened to his calling to be a priest after meeting Fr (now Bishop) Graham Rose in the Rivonia parish. He completed his first orientation at St Gizito’s in Verulam under Fr Lionel Sham who was Rector at the time. This was followed by 2 years at St Peter’s for Philosophy studies, with the third year of philosophy taking place at St John Vianney Seminary, followed by another 4 and a half years of Theology . Joachim is taking part in a pilgrimage to Rome from the 1-8th July with 7 seminarians, representing the Johannesburg diocese. He will be ordained to the Diaconate at the Cathedral of Christ the King on the afternoon of Wednesday 10th July at 4.30pm and all Maryvale parishioners are invited to attend and support him with their prayers
